Fixture Adjustment
During the machining process on a CNC lathe, ensuring machining accuracy is the primary standard. Precision control is typically achieved through programming and debugging. Programming ensures precision by crafting flawless code based on experience, while equipment debugging focuses on fixture adjustment as the key aspect. Today, we will explain the two fundamental methods for adjusting fixtures on CNC lathes to guarantee accuracy.
Precision fixtures:
Use high-precision hydraulic/pneumatic chucks, spring collets, or dedicated fixtures.
Positioning and Clamping: Ensure reliable positioning with appropriate and uniform clamping force. For thin-walled parts, use deformation-preventing fixtures (such as expanding or wrapping types) or process ribs.
2. Online and Offline Detection:
Online measurement: Utilizing machine tool probing heads (tool setters/workpiece inspection probes) to automatically measure critical dimensions of workpieces during machining, enabling closed-loop control of machining-measurement-compensation. This is one of the most effective means to enhance precision and efficiency.
Offline Precision Inspection: Final inspection of finished parts is conducted using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), roundness testers, and profilometers, with the data used for trend analysis and process adjustments.
