1. Matching chip type with chip conveyor selection: This is the most crucial principle. For long continuous chips generated from steel machining, a chain plate-type conveyor should be prioritized. For short and fragmented chips from cast iron or aluminum machining, a spiral-type or chain plate-type conveyor can be selected.
2. Daily Inspection and Maintenance:
Regular cleaning: Inspect and remove any tangled debris caught in the chain plate gaps or spiral.
Inspect lubrication: Regularly lubricate the chain, sprockets, and reducer.
Check for wear: Monitor the wear of the scraper, chain, and spiral blade, and replace them promptly.
Avoid Overloading: Do not allow excessively large or heavy foreign objects (such as tools or workpieces) to fall into the chip conveyor to prevent damage to the motor or mechanism.
3. Coolant Management: Excessive coolant in the chips can reduce chip evacuation efficiency and accelerate corrosion. Ensure moderate coolant flow and pressure, and consider installing a separation device.
4. Safety Design:
Overload Protection: The motor shall be equipped with an overload protection function, capable of automatically stopping and issuing an alarm when jammed.
Proper protection: All moving parts must be equipped with reliable protective covers to prevent injuries from personnel contact.
